Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to 5th Grade! I am thrilled to be teaching your child this year! This is my 4th year teaching the 5th grade and I absolutely love 5th graders!
I grew up in Chatham, IL and attended college at Lincoln Land Community College, Southern Illinois University and completed my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2000. After graduation I worked for Rutledge Youth Foundation as a caseworker and later as a foster care supervisor. While working full-time I decided to go back to school to earn my teacher's certificate. Although I loved helping others at RYF I felt like something was missing in my career. I realized that teaching was what I really wanted to be doing. In 2008 I earned my K-9 teacher's certificate from UIS as well.
I'm very thankful that I've been able to work with the students of the New Berlin community. I look forward to a wonderful year with your child!
